ZOOLOGICAL PARK

This park is just 10 minutes from the house, A small park that has won widespread recognition in Spain and beyond (EAZA award, European Association of Zoos and Aquaria). It’s involved in over 40 breeding programs for species that are in danger of extinction, and also collaborates in preservation projects located in biodiversity hotspots.

Your family will be able to see how they feed crocodiles, tomistomas, sumatran tigers, lowland gorillas, chimpanzees, see how much a giant turtle weighs, or how they train a Komodo dragon.

Also you will find over 100 species of plants and trees, and see the recreation of a 1200 year old baobab tree.

You will have contact with more than 200 species in 4 different habitats (Madagascar, Equatorial Africa, Southeast Asia, and Indo-Pacific), and have direct contact with lemurs and enjoy an exhibition of birds.

During the summer, the park opens until 1;00am in order to observe the more nocturnally active species, such as leopards, flying foxes and porcupines..

MARINE/AQUATIC FAUNA PARK

This is a marine park about 2 hectares, (5 acres). It is the only park of this kind in the state of Andalusia. It offers a new concept in family entertainment, bringing together sea life and the Amazon. This park is just 20 minutes from the house

Your family will see, in 4 different types of facilities, sea lions, penguins, baby crocodiles, snakes, piranhas, lizards, fish and caimans.

There are 4 large pools for attractions such as the Dolphin demonstration, an innovative activity where you find out more about this emblematic ambassador for marine life. There is also an exhibition of exotic birds, and talks such as Feeding the Penguins, where they live in a specially cooled environment, with similar conditions of their native Antarctica.

You can have the chance to swim with Sea Lions ( May to September) a dream experience for any child, as well as meeting the dolphins and penguins (minimum age to swim: 7 years old, as part of a VIP visit).

At the Amazon area your family will see animals and plants, from the tropical jungle in South America, which plays host to half of the flora and fauna species on the planet.

There are a range of restaurants and shops in the park.

TREETOP ADVENTURE PARK

This is the largest adventure park in the state of Andalusia, and it is just 10 minutes from the house you would be staying at.

An original proposal that will attract both children and adults. Your group can enjoy their visit by testing their skills on the trees.

It offers a unique experience and an amazing 103 challenges, and 24 ziplines spread over 6 adventure circuits. The park includes the longest treetop zip line in the state, with a length of 656 feet ( 200 meters). You can also jump from a 39 feet (12 meters) high platform.

The visit includes an initiation short course on a special learning circuit, where all participants ( children or adults) have to practice before going on the circuits to have fun. Each circuit is adapted so that everyone can find a challenge according to their age and skill level.

CROCODILE PARK

Kids can have lots of fun visiting this park home to over 200 crocodiles. It is a great opportunity for any reptile lovers to see.

This park is about 20 minutes away.

BUTTERFLY PARK

An activity your children would enjoy. Have you ever seen how a butterfly is born? Would you like your kids to feel the experience of having 1,500 butterflies from different regions of the world flying around them?. More than 150 different species of butterflies are available in the park.

This park is inside a Thai temple-style building.

Providing a stunning backdrop, and home, for the butterflies are the tropical and flowering plants, whose nectar the insects feed on, and host plants, which caterpillars feed on,

Learn some cool butterflies facts, from reproduction to the birthing process.

Located about 20 min drive from the house. An activity your children would enjoy!

NATIONAL PARK

This park is considered Europe’s largest ecological reserve covering ( 210 sq miles - 543km2 ) with more than 300 different species of birds a year transiting between Europe and Africa. It’s located in an area of marshes, shallow streams and sand dunes. The park also boasts 24 miles ( 38 km) of pristine beaches on one of the few large stretches of undeveloped coastline remaining in Spain.

The park is also one of Europe’s best known conservation areas and has been designated a UNESCO biosphere reserve.

It’s fauna include the booted eagle, imperial eagle, marsh harrier, mallard, crested coot, crane, duck, flamingos, mongoose, azure -winged magpie, buzzard, loggerhead and magpie among others, with the Iberian lynx being the stand out option.

All these animals are living in a paradise natural environment among oaks, eucalyptus and pinyon pines.

Your group of family or friends could ride in a 4x4 vehicle to see the beauty of this park. A walking tour is also available for a more direct contact with its dunes, beaches, pine forest, rivers and lagoons.

This park is about 2h and 30 min from the house.

BOTANICAL PARK ( ORCHID HOUSE )

At this building there are more than 5,000 plants and 1,300 species that have been carefully selected, so visitors can see beautiful flowering displays no matter what time of the year.

It is claimed as the biggest collection in Europe.

The largest flower in the world is here! ‘ the corpse flower ‘ It usually blooms only a few times over the 40 years it lives, and each bloom last less than 3 days.

A mixture of colours, fragances, and sensations, very enjoyable for those lovers of the exotic flora.

This orchidarium is 45 minutes away from the house.
